I live in Atlantis

Water levels on the Richelieu River are at least
one metre higher than normal.

So we have been learning the art
of sandbagging and rigging water pumps.

Some say it could be weeks before life returns to normal following
the worst flooding the region has seen in 130 years.
Sadly, 2,400 homes have been flooded, another 500 homes are threatened
and 2,000 people have been asked to leave.

Be careful what you wish for: last year was so dry...

Thanfully, a convoy of 12 light-armoured vehicles
arrived at the end of last week to help waterlogged residents
.

You can see more aerial pictures here.

I am very thankful we are allright.

  1. I'm happy to read you're allright. We are too, but it's been close, the house have been surrounded by water.

  2. How are you holding on Bleu Vanille. Saw the pictures on your blog last week...:( I've been thinking of you and your family, hoping only for the best.
