Fall 2009 Top 7 Fashion Trends

Here they are...

1) Color Trends
Pantone went with a reflection of tough economic times with its selection of pastels, to help the clothes age at a slower rate. But designers top them off with very bright pinks, neon colors (again, 80’s influence) and golden tones, like chartreuse. (see Pantone colors here)

2) Dark and Grays - Cape and Cloaks
Layers upon layers of black and gray, cocoon coats and even ponchos. keep last’s year coat and wear an extra long châle or simple cape over it. Think knit dresses and tailored jacket – feel sophisticated.

3) Big Strong Shoulders
Bold shoulder looks of the 80’s designers is back. It is all about powerful dressing and statement. Dare a shoulder-padded silhouette and military fashion – feel empowered.

4) Bare Shoulders
If you’re not ready for shoulder pads, you might want to go for cut-outs, slits and slashes. Accordion pleat top and velvet bustiers will dress you pretty.

5) Rocker Redux & Leather
Studs, jackets, thigh-skimming boots, high gloves, high-hip footwear, boots, shorts, all leather dress, leather skirts, everything leather - strong & powerful.

6) Sparkle and Shine
Copper, metallics, gunmetal... – think edgy and “get-noticed” day time look. Dare bold accessories and jewelry. Dare shinny tops and skirts.

7) Hats, tights and Fur
Hats are the top accessory of the season: bibi, retro, large or small, top your looks. Skirts and dresses are long and short (just below the knee to mid thigh) – no matter, wear opaque tights. Albeit controversial, fur is back, chic and punchy this fall.
